Gypsy Kitchen: Small Plates, Lavish Cocktails, and Luxury

Located in Buckhead, Georgia, Gypsy Kitchen is a fine dining experience of the Spanish cusine and exquisite cocktails. From a first timer, here is my experience:

The resturant is gorgeous. It was dimly lit decorated with lavish, leather booths. There is an open kitchen to foresee the chefs and an open bar on the right of the resturant with a replica of the famous Charging Bull as the center piece. The cherry on top is the balcony outside which invites the beautiful view of the Atlanta city view.

Two cocktails were ordered to start off the meal: 50 shades of Purple and Blooms in Valencia. 50 Shades of Purple is a gin based cocktail with flavors of  passionfruit, lemon, and cava. The cocktail has the taste of fruityness but also refreshing. Blooms in Valencia is also a gin based drink with rosewater, lychee, lemon, peychauds. It has more of a foral taste. It was quite pleasent, not overpowering at all.

Then the food came! Three small plates and a charcuterie board was ordered for the table. The three smal plates ordered were the Croquetas de Pollo, Morrocan Hot Chicken Bites, and Patatas Bravas. Croquetas de Pollo are fried chicken and cream filled croquettes. The ratio to the cripsy fried outer shell to the aroma packed filling was perfect. The Morrocan Hot Chicken Bites were not too spicy, which made the dish enjoyable for me. The spicy sauce drizzled over the bites gave the perfect mount of kick. It was not too little to taste tasteless and not too much to struggle to breathe. It was perfect to keep wanting to come back for more. Lastly, the Patatas Bravas were crispy fried potatoes with a spicy sauce on the side. It was a simple, yet, tasty dish.

The charcuterie board that was ordered was called the Chef's Board which has jamon serrano (cold cuts), chorizo (salami), Caña de Cabra (cheese rind) mahón (soft cheese) , house pickled vegetables & seasonal preserves. It usually comes with manchego but I subsituted it out because I don't like goat cheese.

Although these were small plates, there was still so much food left that I even considered asking our waiter to join to help clear the plates. For as many small plates that was ordered, I believe that the portion is enough for 3-4 people to share, especially including the charcuterie board.

As a first timer, I had a pleasent experience and plan on brining my mother here (that says a lot because she is so hard to please). To watch my full review, click here! To see the menu for your next visit, click here!
